Privacy Policy Respect in Sport Inc. (RiS) is committed to respecting and safeguarding the privacy and personal information of our stakeholders, employees, clients, customers and users of this website. Our policy may be briefly summed up in the following statement; Respect in Sport will only collect personally identifiable information when you willingly provide it for the purposes of completing the Respect in Sport program. Respect in Sport will not share, sell or distribute personal information to any individual, group or organization which does not require this information for confirmation of progress in, or completion of this program. Personal information collected by Respect in Sport shall only include that which is required for technical completion of the program, or other information required by the organization for which the program was implemented. How and Why Personal Information is Collected: Respect in Sport only collects personally identifiable information at the time of registration for the Respect in Sport program. Personal information may also be collected during the process of a user’s request for technical support. In addition to the above, this information may include such items as an email address, telephone number and specific computer details required to provide a resolution to the request. Personal information will not be shared, sold or transmitted to any third party. Information is only provided to organizations requiring information for confirmation that the Respect in Sport certification program has been completed. Cookies are small text files placed on your hard drive by web servers. These are used by some organizations to identify users returning to a site and to store personal preferences, shopping cart information, registration information etc. Since cookies are simple text files, they cannot contain or transmit viruses. Respect in Sport utilizes what are known as “session cookies”. This type of cookie is automatically deleted from your computer when your Internet browser is closed. No personal information is used by these cookies. All users have the right and ability to modify their own Internet Browser security settings to “Not Accept” or “warn in advance” of receiving cookies of any form. Please note this may inhibit your ability to participate in the Respect in Sport curriculum. Employee Confidentiality: All owners, partners and employees of Respect in Sport are required to sign a “Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreement” upon their start date with the organization. All owners, partners and employees are obligated to hold all personal information entered into the Respect in Sport registration system as private and confidential while the user is registered in the Respect in Sport system and beyond. Limitation of Liability: Absolute confidentiality and security of any information entered into any site on the Internet cannot be guaranteed. All Internet sites and Internet communication are potentially subject to interception, alteration and loss. Respect in Sport has taken great care to ensure all personal information is held securely. All users of websites and programs operated by Respect in Sport must agree that Respect in Sport and its partners shall not be held responsible for damages suffered by the interception and Internet transmission of personal and/or confidential information entered into the programs’ registration systems. All users of websites and programs operated by Respect in Sport further agree and acknowledge Respect in Sport its’ owners, partners and employees shall not be held responsible for the manner in which personal and/or confidential information collected through the registration system is used by organizations who have contracted Respect in Sport to provide the program. Respect in Sport is responsible for the safe keeping of information entered through the Respect in Sport registration system while this information is in its’ possession. Respect in Sport collects this information on behalf of third party organizations for the purposes of completing the Respect in Sport program and all information is transmitted to that organization. To maintain privacy assurance, Respect in Sport has designated a single person to be accountable for internal compliance issues.
Respect in Sport will identify the purpose for collecting personal information prior to or at the time the information is collected. Personal information shall not be used for purposes other than is described unless changes are required by law.
All users must have knowledge of and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal registration information prior to beginning the registration process.
All information collected shall be limited to the basic technical requirements for the completion of the program and that which is required by the organization(s) for which the program has been provided.
Information collected through the RiS registration system shall not be used or disclosed by Respect in Sport except as described during consent or as required by law. Registration records shall be maintained by Respect in Sport and by the organization(s) for which the program has been provided.
Personal records shall be maintained in an accurate fashion and shall not be modified except by you, the user. As of 2007, all users have access through the Respect in Sport system to view, modify and update their own records and confirm the accuracy of those records.
Respect in Sport and its’ partners maintain safeguards appropriate for the sensitivity of the information.
Respect in Sport will make this document and its’ internal privacy policy information available to appropriate personnel on request.
Upon request, Respect in Sport Inc. will provide use and disclosure information relating to a specific individual’s records to that individual. As of 2007, all users have access through the Respect in Sport system to view, modify and update their own records and confirm the accuracy of those records. Handling Customer Complaints and Suggestions: Respect in Sport will provide procedures to receive and respond to users with complaints or suggestions relating to the handling of personal information.
